Each year Priime Tiime Today and many
wonderful sponsors join together to create a way to
hone critical thinking skills with an essay competition and a 30 second video spot
competition. Curriculum is provided to prepare
classes for the competition by teaching students to view the ocean of media
around them with fresh, analytical eyes. They learn to look below the
glossy surface. This years topic is:
How Does the News and Its Delivery Impact My View of the World?

The winners receive great
prizes and even the winning student's teacher wins a prize! The
winners and their teachers are treated to a luncheon to be held at KTVD UPN 20 located at 11203 E. Peakview Ave. in Englewood.
Channel 20 even throws in a tour of the station facilities!
The essay contest is op through 8th
grade students and the video contest is open to students in the 9th through 12th
grade. Essay length is two typewritten pages and video length is 30 seconds,
like a Public Service Announcement. The contest deadline this year is
postmark by March 29th, 2004. We hope you dive in and come up a winner!
